Cosmetology School Questions

You’re first days in Cosmetology class will likely be a bit confusing. Cosmetology classes usually run on a monthly schedule so on your first day you may actually start at the end of your book or in the middle depending on where the class is on your start date. There is no need to worry though because you will get all of your questions answered before you graduate and be fully prepared for what lies ahead. More than likely one of the first things you will hear is that Cosmetology has a 100% hire rate in hairdressing jobs and from my personal experience I would agree. I attended cosmetology school about a year ago and everyone I graduated with is now employed in hairdressing apprenticeships positions. Apprenticeships in Hairdressing are the first step after successful completion of Cosmetology school to becoming a fully licensed cosmetologist/hairdresser. All states in the US require you to attend classes for a certain number of hours which will vary according to your state. After you successfully graduate from cosmetology school you will then take a test with the state board of cosmetology at which time if you pass you will get your Apprenticeship license, which will allow you to work at a salon making money under the supervision of a fully licensed hairdresser. Once you complete your Apprenticeship in Hairdressing you will take another test with your state board of Cosmetology and if you pass you will receive your full cosmetology license. When you have you full unrestricted license you will no longer have to work under the hairdressing apprenticeships and will be able to make more money or even open your own salon if you desire. This may sound like a long process but for the guarantee of a job with room for job growth it is well worth the time and financial investment that you will put in. Hairdressers are a fun spirited group of people with many chances for excellent pay and benefits. Think positive and one day you to will be employed in this exciting field.
